How To Check And Solve Ethernet Cable Problems

Does your computer become frequently disconnected from the interest even though your ethernet cord is present and connected in? A primitive way would be to replace the cable. However, the modern world needs modern efficient solutions.
- Fix network problems with a cable tester
- One of which is an inexpensive basic network cable tester used to test Ethernet network cables. Also, you can’t simply predict the condition of the cable just by looking at it so we need to perform the test. Cable verification testers check the correctness of the connection of cable by measuring data.
- Cat5e with 100MHz bandwidth, cat6 with 250 MHz, and cat6A with 500Hz having different technologies that follow different verification tests. It is very handy for constituting two parts. It works when the user plugs in the Ethernet cable and puts the other end in the cinder terminal causing a series of lights to blink in an orderly manner without color change that represents the cable is okay.
2. Check your network cable
- Is your connection established once the cable is slightly lifted? This indicates that the pins are bent resulting in poor contact with the rj45 connector on the end of the ethernet cable. To fix it we use a couple of small tools to go inside the port and lift the pins. Once you put the ethernet cable green light blinks that indicates the connection to the switch is at a gigabit speed. Get an ethernet cable stripper, give it turns and remove the jacket, and cut out the spline of cat6 ethernet cable. Take 4 pairs of conductors and put them in slots on the junction box then start untwisting these pairs and settle the pair with a punch down tool.
3. Cable certification is important
- Three models from 350–1000MHz, the LAN tech has the performance needed to certify any category of cable without unnecessary expense. It is a standard off-the-shelf patch cord available at your local distributor. The accuracy of a tester is verified by ETL and is suitable for category 5e, cat6 ethernet cables, and category 6A cabling with full performance data. Unlike other certifiers, LAN tech does not require a laptop to calculate the results. It has a powerful processor that calculates all data, the intuitive user interface makes it more complicated than any other system.
4. Check your network hardware
- While using Cat6 Ethernet cables ensure the compatibility of equipment and get rid of any unwanted interference (RFI, EMI) in the environment.
5. Reduce crosstalk
- Cat5e and Cat6a ethernet cables have distortion issues for which engineers introduced the idea of differential signaling. This helps rectify Cross talk which is probably the most problematic issue in transmission line theory. For that, you send a positive pulse down one wire and an identical negative copy of the other wire. The two equal and opposite magnetic fields cancel each other but not entirely because of crosstalk, testing it cancels out all and you get a little crossbar.
6. Check your network connection
- Check why your internet is lagging by looking into network setup, poor connectivity, and viruses.
7. Beware before buying your cable
- According to research, the most common cabling problem is that they are not labeled properly because of which they are not where they are supposed to be. You unplug something and plug it in and it doesn’t work because it’s labeled wrong. However, some testers have identifiers that can troubleshoot this problem
8. Get a certified network cable installer
- There are some manufactures out there that sell aluminum cables as copper cables which impose real threats to power over Ethernet. So, watch out for them as well! And hire a good installer so that you put the cable to use with confidence.
